2007 NEWSLETTER

Hello from SF--

Yee-Haa!! It’s time to make plans for the 2008 Chuck Wagon Races. Dan and Peggy have completed a preliminary schedule and it’s on their web site at www.chuckwagonraces.com. Check it out! Wrist band prices are the same as last year.

Special notes:

Email address change for us: sforklr@yahoo.com

Campsite and port-a- potty price change.

The camping, road, and trail situation will be the same as 2007.  Enter through the ōF gate and proceed to your reserved camp site on SF. All connecting gates will be open between SF and the ōF. Our ford washed out again, but will probably be repaired by mid August. Dan is doing massive work on the ford behind the arena barn and may be your best option for getting across the river.  Ask at the gate.

J. D. Baker will be back at SF serving up meals from late morning until the last dog dies at night and peddling ice in his spare time.  Teddy Moorehead will again be available to repair your tack and dish out sound advice on select subjects. Breakfast will  be served at SF by Vicky.  We all appreciate your patronage.

Your Site rent and port-a-potty fee needs to be paid by July 21. We have had to raise our campsite fees  this year due to increased costs of fuel, fertilizer, and about everything else.  Primitive campsites are $60 and electric is $120.  Port-a-Potties will be $110 and should be paid along with your campsite fee.  Make checks payable to Ron or Patty Bonds. As always we have several people on the waiting list for a camp site, so if you do not plan to attend this year, or you plan to camp elsewhere, please let us know as soon as possible.

Please help us with cleanup by taking your trash with you when you leave.  Aluminum cans may be left at your site if bagged separately. Hay left behind should be removed from the field (put it in the woods near your camp).  Any wood, stones, or blocks should also be taken into the woods.  Please do not take any glass containers out of camp when riding.  Your horse may be the one cut up by broken bottles and cleanup is near impossible.

You may start site cleanup on the week end of August the 9th.  Campers and stock pens may be set up starting on the 16th.  The ōF west gate will be open for campers Saturday morning, August 24th.  From that time until the races are over the SF hwy 95 gate will be closed.

Thanks in advance for your immediate attention to this matter and letting us know ASAP as to your plans.  We are looking forward to seeing and visiting with each of you again this year.  See ya soon.
